Sling & Stone was founded in 2005 by James Calloway — a lifelong firearms enthusiast who saw a gap in the market for a local dealer that actually knew what they were talking about and treated customers like adults.
What started as a small storefront has grown into a full-service firearms retailer with an in-house gunsmith, a robust consignment and transfer program, and a staff that genuinely loves this industry. But the core hasn't changed: honest advice, fair prices, and zero pressure.
We're a family business in the truest sense. James and his wife Maria run the shop together, and every employee we've brought on shares the same values. When you walk through our door, you're not a transaction — you're a neighbor.

Founded
Owner James Calloway opens Sling & Stone out of a lifelong passion for firearms and a gap in honest, knowledgeable local dealers.
Expanded Showroom
Growing demand led to a move to our current location — a larger showroom with dedicated space for long guns, handguns, and accessories.
Gunsmithing Added
We brought on our first in-house gunsmith, rounding out our services and giving customers a single trusted destination for repairs and maintenance.
Safety Training Program
Partnered with certified instructors to offer and refer safety and CCW courses, deepening our commitment to responsible ownership.
Still Going Strong

Operations Manager
Co-owner and the backbone of day-to-day operations. Maria manages inventory, consignment, and makes sure every customer leaves satisfied.
Derek Holt
Lead Gunsmith
Certified gunsmith with 15 years of experience. Derek handles all repairs, action jobs, and custom work. If it can be fixed, Derek can fix it.

Sales Associate
